““Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

All About Parenting

Greetings, friends and family! Our first quarter of school has already wrapped up, and the kids are all doing great! Elam has especially come into his element this semester. He started jujitsu at the beginning of the summer, and by the end of the summer he already was winning tournaments in his division. He’s joined the Speech and Debate Club at school, and in his first full debate he and a fellow 7th grader went up against two juniors, and WON! And last week he was voted as one of the two Student Council representatives for the 7th grade. Who are we even raising? But most significant of all, Elam chose to give his life to Christ this month, and we could not be more thrilled! Our prayers for all of our kids are that they would personally understand what it means to follow Christ, grow in the confidence of their identities in Him, and that the Lord would use their individual gifts for His glory.

What a joy it is to already hear how these women have changed in their parenting to become more intentional moms as they pursue their children.

While parenting is definitely one of the most challenging things anyone will ever commit to, and we certainly have our failures, we are honored to use some of our experience to help others grow as parents as well. We have had twelve ladies participating in the Moms Parenting Group. It has been so exciting to see how the Lord is using this time to challenge and grow these women as mothers, but even more as Christ-followers. We have several women that are young in their faith or not yet followers of Christ. While the curriculum itself is not overtly Christian, the content is all driven by Biblical principles, and is a stepping stone to evangelism and discipleship. We are praying for huge break-through in the lives of these women.

Senior Leadership Team

Nick has been equally busy at Grace International School (GIS). As Director of Communications, he is part of the Senior Leadership Team for the school. This has given him some unique opportunities to help steer the direction and decisions of the board. This month he researched and delivered feedback on communication within the school and was able to offer some key insights into how the leadership of the school can grow in this capacity.

Nick shared his feedback with around twenty of the senior leaders from GIS—both Thai and international leadership were represented.

Nick also has a lot of responsibility in the ACSI accreditation process at GIS, which is up for renewal this year. Being ACSI accredited validates the quality of education received here, and provides graduating students access so some of the top colleges and universities around the US and the world. Additionally, the research has shown that over 25% of graduates from GIS return to the mission field after college to work in full-time ministry! For us, this solidifies the value of investing well into GIS and specifically the students. Thank you so much to each of you for being an enormous part of this reality! This ministry could not happen without your prayers and investment!

Additional Highlights

Around every six weeks we get together with our full Teach With Cru team for a dinner and meeting. It’s a blessing to gather and hear about each individual’s ministry and impact.
We have really enjoyed watching Elam excel in jujitsu over the last few months.
Grey joined the chapel drama team this year and has done such a great job memorizing lines and trying out different accents for his roles. He has also been a great friend to so many students, including our neighbor who has some physical limitations. They have become best buds!
